Pevný bod existuje pouze v rámci skupiny shodně pohybujících se objektů. Planeta Země je jednou takovou soustavou. Balónek, který hodím v jedoucím vlaku na zem bude pro mě a zbytek cestujících padat, jak jsme zvyklí. Ale jak ho budou vnímat lidé, kteří ho sledují z nádraží? Odpověď dává teorie vztažných soustav, která je základem pro teorii relativity.V sedmdesátých letech proběhla Spojenými státy vlna inspirace Einsteinovými poznatky, které do svých repetetivních kompozic přetavovali hudebníci jako Phillip Glass, Steve Reich nebo Terry Reily. Vlna inspirace Einsteinovými teoriemi zasáhla také studenty Bonnie, Sherry a Johna, kteří v té době studovali na Michiganské Státní Universitě. Teorii Vztažných Soustav aplikovali ve své video-artové taneční choreografii, jejíž podstatou bylo natočit z pěti kamer dvě místa současně a tyto záběry naživo zmixovat a zaznamenat. Kromě minimalistické opery Einstein on the Beach se studenti umělecky inspirovali zkušeností s japonským Nó divadlem a „tancem před kamerou“ divadelního choreografa / tanečníka Merce Cunninghama.
Výsledek jejich experimentu můžete zažít 1. Září v rámci audiovizuálního večírku Curryfikace. Digitalizované záběry bude naživo mixovat VJ Foolius a o zvukovou složku se postará improvizační skupina Curry Collective. Zážitek zvýrazní pálivé curry, které se bude na místě podávat.
Curryfikace: Frames of ReferenceA fixed point exists only within a group of identically moving objects. The planet Earth is one such system. A drop of a ball on a moving train will be perceived normally by me and other passengers. But how will it be observed by people standing on the station’s platform? The answer is given by the theory of reference frames which forms a basis for the theory of relativity.
In the 1970s, a wave of inspiration for Einstein’s insights swept through the United States, and musicians such as Phillip Glass, Steve Reich and Terry Reily translated them into their repetitive compositions. Einstein’s theories also inspired students Bonnie, Sherry and John, who were studying at the Michigan State University at the time. They applied the frames of reference theory in their video-art choreography, the essence of which was to film two locations simultaneously from five cameras and mix and record this footage live. In addition to the minimalist opera Einstein on the Beach, the students were artistically inspired by their experience with Japan’s NOH Theatre and the „dancing in front of the camera“ of dance choreographer / dancer Merce Cunningham.
The result of student’s experiment from 70’s can be experienced live on 1st September as part of the audiovisual evening Curryfikace. The digitised footage will be mixed live by VJ Foolius and the soundtrack will be performed by the improvisational group Curry Collective. A spicy curry will be served at the event to enhance the experience.
