Orchestr byl jako neformální seskupení založen v roce 1994 a hraje hudbu inspirovanou židovskou klezmerovou tradicí. Šarbilach znamená v překladu z hebrejštiny střípek pro štěstí. V současné době tvoří základ souboru přes 20 hudebníků, především studentů uměleckých škol a konzervatoří, ale i zkušených muzikantů.
Díky ojedinělému melodickému, harmonickému a rytmickému propojení vážné, populární a etnické hudby je styl Šarbilachu, i s přihlédnutím k neobvyklému obsazení, originální a dramaturgicky velmi rozmanitý. Repertoár Šarbilachu tvoří autorská hudba několika autorů, kteří aranžují či skládají přímo pro orchestr.

Founded as an informal group in 1994, the orchestra plays music inspired by the Jewish klezmer tradition. Sharbilach translates from Hebrew as a crumb for good luck. Currently, the ensemble comprises over 20 musicians, mainly students of art schools and conservatories, but also experienced musicians.
Thanks to the unique melodic, harmonic and rhythmic combination of classical, popular and ethnic music, the style of Šarbilach, even considering the unusual cast, is original and dramaturgically very diverse. Their repertoire consists of original music by several composers who arrange or compose directly for the orchestra.
